Complete Health Dentistry is our way to look at the relationship between your mouth and body to determine how to treat your overall health – we call this the “oral-systemic connection.” There are very few practices that specialize in complete health dentistry and our team is the first in the nation that has a Cardiologist and Dentist working together to give you the very best care focusing on what’s most important for your long-term health.
Dr. Barbara McClatchie is on a mission to enrich the quality of life for every person she meets. Her practice, Complete Heath Dentistry of Columbus, employs a team of professionals specializing in general restorative dentistry and uses researched-based methods that ensure optimal oral, mouth and heart health.
In 2011, Dr. McClatchie completed the Bale Doneen Preceptorship certification and continues mentored study today. In this program, she attends monthly scientific updates to learn the latest science to prevent cardiovascular disease from progressing and to actually reverse it, through practicing personalized dental medicine. She and her team offer saliva testing to identify the presence of five high risk bacteria that can increase chances of cardiovascular disease as well as to determine a person’s genetic risks. As an accredited provider of the Bale Doneen Method, she works in partnership with the Heart Attack Stroke Prevention Center of Central Ohio and supports other dentists to help patients prevent heart attacks and strokes. She is a founding member of American Academy of Oral Systemic Health, an organization bringing medical and dental professionals together as patient advocates for better patient outcomes.

A native of the Toledo area, Dr. McClatchie graduated from The Ohio State University in 1978 with a Certification in Dental Hygiene and Bachelor of Science in Education and received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University in 1986. After that she was selected to attend a hospital based general practice residency program at OSU. She continued her study with world-renowned Pankey Institute of Advanced Education where she learned the skills for full mouth reconstruction that includes comfort, function, esthetics and longevity.
Dr. McClatchie won the Worthington Chamber of Commerce small business owner award for 2016-2017. She and her husband, Dr. Eric Goulder, won an award in 2017 for opening the first and only medical center in the United States with an accredited Cardiologist and Dentist to practice the Bale Doneen Method testing and care under one roof. She has shared tips for optimal oral and heart health on Good Day Columbus, and has been featured on 10TV and Columbus CEO Magazine.

Outside of the office Dr. McClatchie enjoys gardening, dancing, visiting amusement parks and watching fireworks, all while laughing and having lots of fun. She has two grown boys and two golden retrievers.
Dr. Eric Goulder is a board-certified cardiologist has been practicing cardiology for more than thirty years. Over this time, Dr. Goulder has practiced what is called “standard of care” cardiology. It is based on guidelines that are developed from medical research to obtain the best outcomes for large populations. While that is fine as far as it goes, he now feels that he wants to treat each patient based upon his/her particular situation and genetic make-up. We are all a little different, and while a cookbook recipe works well for large groups, it may not be right for you in particular; You are a group of one.
While Dr. Goulder has always enjoyed practicing invasive and clinical cardiology, he has always had a strong interest in preventive cardiology as well. I have been somewhat frustrated over his years of practice by knowing that there must be more to the story of what causes coronary artery disease beyond the classically described risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, smoking family history, sedentary lifestyle). There were always those patients with coronary disease who did not fit the mold of the classic risk factors. After having taken the Bale/Doneen Preceptorship, Dr. Goulder has now been exposed to a whole new arena of ways to slow the progression of coronary disease and even prevent its occurrence. It is this exciting new relationship between coronary disease and the many underlying inflammatory processes that is the key to stopping heart disease in its tracks. This is also where the Oral-Systemic approach, the relationship between dentists and medical physicians becomes so important.
One thing I have always known I wanted to do was to help people. My career in the dental field has allowed me to help people on so many levels; becoming healthier, saving money, understanding insurance, and doing whatever I can to make their time with us the best it can be! I truly believe I work in the best dental practice in the country because we make a real difference in our patient’s lives and not just their teeth. Focusing on the oral-systemic connection allows us to offer a level of care that gives patients the ability to live fuller lives longer. And they get a great smile too!
I’m married to my wonderful husband Adam and we live with our 3 “furbabies” out in the country. I love gardening, hiking, kayaking, fishing....basically anything outdoors! If I am forced to be indoors, you will most likely find me reading or painting. We are also avid travelers and are working diligently on filling our passports.

Dentistry has been a great passion of mine since I was eleven years old. I believe that, as a dental professional, we have the ability to help people feel and look their best. Over the past decade, I have learned the modern research linking oral health and systemic health and the importance of both. Now, I have the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned and bridge the gap between medical and dental healthcare.
I love my team because we provide true comprehensive care through the leadership of Dr. McClatchie. Our team is composed of knowledgeable clinicians that truly care for patients’ total well-being: We educate and inspire patients to make healthy changes. With Dr. McClatchie and our team we will make you feel comfortable and confidant in your smile and overall health. There is only one Dr., one team that offers amazingly high care standards for our patients and I feel like that is US. I am very fortunate to be part of this great team.
