Teeth Whitening (In office ZOOM!® & customized trays)
If whitening toothpaste and OTC whitening products have fallen short on your expectations, consider a professional cosmetic procedure to help you with your stained or discolored teeth. There is no need to suffer from social embarrassment.
chairside whitening system is a safe, effective and fast way to brighten your teeth in a single office visit. The ZOOM! procedure is much more convenient than wearing trays or strips, making it a great choice for our busy patients.
ZOOM! is done in the office during one visit lasting 1.5 hours. At your appointment we apply a gentle, hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel to your teeth. The gel is then exposed to a high-intensity light.
The most common side effect is increased tooth sensitivity to cold for 1-3 days after treatment.
Dentist-supervised whitening is one of the safest and most conservative cosmetic dental treatments available. After the treatment, your teeth will be up to six to ten shades whiter.
The ZOOM! chairside whitening system is a safe, effective and fast way to brighten your teeth in a single office visit.
Dr. McClatchie also produces customized trays designed for the shape of your teeth. The average treatment is about 4 weeks, even though you will notice results after just a few applications. If patients are not good candidates for the ZOOM! and in-office whitening systems due to sensitivity or financial limitations, home whitening is a great alternative.
It is recommended to touch up whitening every 6-12 months for best results.

Dental bonding is the application of composite resin to the tooth surface. It can improve the appearance of chipped, broken, cracked and stained teeth, and fill in spaces between teeth. Dentists apply a thin layer of tooth-colored composite resin to the teeth to restore chips and cracks, fill in gaps or cover stains, and provide patients with a more attractive and functional smile.
First, a thin layer of plastic material is applied to the tooth’s surface. Then the dentist sculpts the bonding material to the desired shape and bonds it to the tooth using a special light. The bonding material comes in many colors so it will be possible to match the shade of your teeth. Once the plastic has hardened, it is polished until it is entirely smooth.
Care for your bonded restorations:
- Plaque must be removed daily.
- Have your teeth cleaned professionally 3-4 times a year.
- Don’t chew ice or bite your fingernails.
- Use a night guard if your clench or grind your teeth.
- Don’t smoke.
- Minimize stain causing food and drink.
