The Importance of an Anti-Inflammatory Diet

By: | Tags: , , , , , | Comments: 0 | August 5th, 2016

unnamedAugust is Psoriasis Awareness Month. Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. This is a chronic (long-lasting), inflammatory disease. Plaque Psoriasis, the most common type, can be found anywhere on your body, including the inside of your mouth.

Practicing a diet filled with anti-inflammatory foods is a step to protection your body from Psoriasis. According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, it is best to eat “cold-water fish, flaxseeds, olive oil, pumpkin seeds, walnuts and colorful fresh fruit and vegetables.”

At The Complete Health Dentistry of Worthington, we encourage our patients to use Juice Plus+ products to compliment their diet. Juice Plus+ is filled with essential fruits and vegetables to provide your body with the nutrition it needs. Protecting your body from inflammation is important to avoid developing not only Psoriasis, but cardiac issues as well.
